Welcome to Mithaq. By using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. They are written to protect the sincere intention to marry and the dignity of every member, so please read them carefully.
The service
Mithaq lets adult Muslim men and women get to know each other for the purpose of marriage. We provide tools to search and communicate, but we do not guarantee marriage or compatibility, and we do not currently verify members’ identities or what they write. We are not a party to any relationship or marriage contract between members.
Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older. Accounts of minors are deleted as soon as we learn of them.
- You must be looking for marriage, and the law that applies to you must not prevent you from marrying.
- One account per person, and your Mithaq account must not have been banned before.
- If a guardian or relative creates the profile, it must be with the knowledge and consent of the profile’s owner, who must be an adult; the creator is responsible for the accuracy of the information.
Marriage only
Mithaq must not be used for friendship, casual dating or any relationship outside marriage, nor for business, promotion or recruiting members for any other purpose. Accounts used for anything other than marriage are suspended.
Conduct rules
We all follow Islamic manners in word and deed. In particular, the following are not allowed:
- Insults, harassment, threats, bullying, discrimination, or anything that degrades a person’s dignity.
- Any explicit, sexual or immodest content in photos, text or messages. Photos must be modest and must be of you, not someone else.
- Asking for money, gifts, transfers or bank details, or offering investments or jobs — this leads to immediate suspension.
- Putting contact details in your public bio: phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts or links.
- Impersonation, lying about your age, marital status or anything else, or creating more than one account.
- Publishing other people’s information or photos without permission, or sharing conversations to harm or shame someone.
- Automated use, scraping, hacking attempts or disrupting the service.
- Any unlawful content, or content that incites violence or hatred.
Any sexual content involving a minor is removed immediately, its author is permanently banned, and it is reported to the authorities — see our Child Safety Standards.
Moderation and enforcement
- Text you write (heading, “About me”, “The partner I am looking for”) is reviewed by our team before it appears, and may be rejected with a reason.
- Photos appear as soon as they are uploaded and are reviewed by our team afterwards; photos that break the rules are hidden.
- We review every report we receive by email. We may look at reported content, including messages, to verify it.
- Depending on the violation: a warning, hiding content, hiding the profile, or a temporary or permanent ban. For serious violations we may suspend an account without prior warning.
- A subscription does not prevent suspension, and unused time is not refunded after a ban for violations, except as Google Play policies or the law require.
- If you believe a decision about you was wrong, email us at alaa.albayed2016@gmail.com and we will review it.
Your account and content
You sign in to Mithaq with your Google account, and you are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used your account.
Content you add (photos, text, messages) remains yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host it and show it to members within Mithaq only as needed to run the service; the licence ends when the content or the account is deleted. You confirm that you have the right to everything you post.
Subscriptions and auto-renewal
- Gold and Platinum memberships are optional, for 1 month, 3 months or 12 months, and are sold only through Google Play.
- Google Play shows the price in your local currency before you confirm, and charges your Google Play account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, for the same duration at its current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- To cancel, open the Google Play app: profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mithaq → Cancel subscription. Your benefits remain until the end of the paid period.
- Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel your subscription — cancel it in Google Play.
- If the price of an active subscription changes, Google Play notifies you in advance under its policies.
Refunds
Refunds follow the Google Play refund policy, and you can request one from Google Play directly. You can also email us at alaa.albayed2016@gmail.com and we will consider your request fairly. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer protection law in your country.
Staying safe outside the app
- Never send money or bank details to a member, whatever the story.
- Involve your guardian and family early, and make enquiries about the other person before any step.
- If you decide to meet, do so in a public place with family present.
- We do not verify members’ identities or criminal records; the decision and responsibility are yours.
Limitation of liability
Mithaq is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running without interruption but cannot guarantee it is free of faults. We are not responsible for members’ behaviour inside or outside the app, or for the accuracy of what they write.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability does not exceed what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or gross negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Termination
You can stop using Mithaq at any time by deleting your account (account deletion). We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms or if the law requires it. If we shut down the whole service, we will give you reasonable notice.
Intellectual property
The Mithaq name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may not copy or reuse them or reverse-engineer the app, except as the law expressly allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of the service is established, without depriving you of the mandatory protection given to you as a consumer by the laws of your country of residence. We always try to resolve any dispute amicably first: email us at alaa.albayed2016@gmail.com.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page and tell you in the app before any significant change. Continuing to use Mithaq after a change takes effect means you accept it.
